She asked me to draw Feanor and Nerdanel from Tolkien's Legendarium so that's what I did.
I hope you'll like it !
This scene takes place not long after the destruction of the Trees.
Feanor is determined to follow Morgoth in Middle Earth and Nerdanel will be abandoned and betrayed by those she loves the most ; she lost her entire family at once... poor her, I really liked her.
I wanted him to have a stern face with that determined look in his eyes while the proud and strong Nerdanel became diminished and tired...
I must admit it's hard to draw someone you hate
but I made an effort.
Quick explanation about Feanor if you don't know who he is : Fšenor was probably the most reputed and most powerful Eldar who lived in Arda.
This Noldor was the greatest jeweler ever and nobody was able to recreate what he had made : the Silmarils.
He designed the Silmarils from the light of the Trees of Valinor. These 3 gems exceeded in beauty anything that existed in the world and stirred many lusts.
Melkor, the mightiest of the Valar, seized it and fled to Angband, the cursed fortress, destroying the Sacred Trees of Valinor.
From Telperion, a single flower was reborn, and Laurelin a single fruit. This will be the Moon and the Sun.. (Early 1st Age)
Morgoth (aka Melkor) was the master of Sauron and the Dark Lord of the era. More powerful and darker than anyone else on Arda (the Earth). Fšenor, furious at this betrayal led the nation in its search.
He took the head of those Noldor who left (who were cursed by Mandos, one of the Valar). However, they did not form a united front behind Feanor: many of them had enlisted under the banners of Fingolfin, who followed his half-brother out of loyalty.
Relations between them were strained to the point that when the Noldor came to the HelcaraxŽ (a kind of ice bridge in the far north that bound Valinor to Middle Earth) FŽanor betrays his half-brother, sailing to Middle-earth with his own supporters on ships stolen from Teleri, then burned them (bastard).
The Teleri refused to join the Noldor in their departure from Valinor, and many of them were cruelly killed in the massacre AlqualondŽ (their capital).
